Job Summary:
Morgan McKinley are looking for an experienced and dynamic Implementation Project Manager to join our team, a leading trading firm. This role will focus on managing the end-to-end process of replacing their market data vendor. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the successful migration of systems, ensuring minimal disruption to trading operations, and working closely with stakeholders across the business, technology, and vendor teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Planning and Management: Lead the full lifecycle of the vendor transition project, including project scoping, resource planning, timeline creation, and risk management.
- Stakeholder Management: Act as the central point of contact between internal teams (trading, IT, risk, and compliance) and external vendors to ensure alignment on requirements, timelines, and deliverables.
- Vendor Management: Liaise with the selected market data vendor to negotiate contract terms, manage expectations, track progress, and address any issues.
- Data Migration: Oversee the migration of historical and real-time data from the existing vendor to the new platform, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and minimal downtime.
- Technical Integration: Collaborate with development and infrastructure teams to ensure seamless integration of the new market data feed into the company’s trading platforms and analytics systems.
- Change Management: Develop and execute a change management plan, ensuring internal users are trained and prepared for the switch to the new market data system.
- Issue Resolution: Proactively identify and resolve project risks, roadblocks, and any technical or operational issues during the implementation phase.
- Testing and Quality Assurance: Ensure thorough testing of market data accuracy, timeliness, and performance before go-live, including user acceptance testing (UAT) and parallel runs.
- Post-Implementation Support: Provide ongoing support post-implementation to address any integration or operational issues and optimize performance.
- Compliance and Regulatory Oversight: Ensure the new market data vendor meets all regulatory requirements and data handling standards, working closely with compliance teams.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Technology, Finance, or a related field.
- 5+ years of project management experience, ideally within the financial services, trading, or fintech industry.
- Demonstrated experience managing market data vendor transitions or other complex data integration projects.
- Solid understanding of market data systems, feeds, and vendors (e.g., Bloomberg, Refinitiv, ICE, etc.).
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Experience with project management tools and methodologies (Agile, Scrum, Waterfall).
- Ability to manage competing priorities and tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on delivering quality results.
Preferred Qualifications:
- PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent project management certification.
- Knowledge of market structure, trading operations, and financial instruments.
- Experience working with data security and compliance in financial markets.
- Familiarity with APIs, data feeds, and trading systems integration.
