A renowned global design studio is seeking a sustainability leader to join its esteemed London-based team. In this role, you will lead an established team at the forefront of sustainable strategy implementation. Collaborating closely with experienced design teams, you will serve as the technical lead on projects, while driving innovative sustainability approaches within the team. You will influence the design and long-term viability of some of the UK & Ireland’s most prestigious large-scale projects. Job description:

  • Manage and guide a regional team within the global team, focusing on sustainable design across various large-scale projects
  • To oversee multiple projects simultaneously, workflows and support the design teams on sustainability-related topics.
  • To be involved with designing and assessing sustainability frameworks, conducting environmental and energy analyses, developing health and well-being strategies, and managing third-party certifications and GHG emission analysis.
  • Work on projects aimed at developing strategies for climate impact mitigation and resilience, coordinating sustainability assessments and benchmarking building projects to ensure they meet high sustainability standards.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to integrate sustainable design goals and maximize energy efficiency throughout project lifecycles


Key skills:

  • Holding a relevant degree in architecture with a focus on environmental design, building services/engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Accredited within energy assessment or experience using energy modelling software such as SAP, SBEM, IES and a M.Sc. would be highly desirable.
  • Experience within embodied carbon and lifecycle assessments
  • Strong understanding of BREEAM and LEED
  • Experience in OneClick LCA, Energy Strategies, Daylight & Sunlight consultancy, and sustainability rating systems is ideal
  • Desire to realise net zero carbon targets across the studio and a passion for analysing data research, and assisting design solutions are key qualities
  • Open communication skills with the ability to bring people together through training and knowledge sharing
  • Experience with project budgeting, cost tracking, and interdisciplinary team management.
