Field Services Engineer: Medical & Laboratory Devices

Position: Medical & Laboratory Field Services Engineer with a focus on Digital Pathology devices.

Location: The successful candidate will be preferably based in and around the Hertfordshire area

Reporting into: Regional Team Leader & Digital Pathology Product Specialist

Salary: Competitive salary depending on experience + car allowance + bonus scheme.

About the position:

An exciting career opportunity has arisen at Hugo Technology for a Medical Electronic Field Service Engineer, with a Digital Pathology focus.

On completion of Original Equipment Manufacturer training, the field service engineer will be responsible for the service, repair and commissioning of a range of the latest technological, highly advanced Digital Pathology (DP) systems, located in Hospitals and associated Laboratories.

Good report writing and root cause analysis skills are essential for this role, making sure faults are investigated and documented thoroughly allowing for successful diagnosis and repair strategies to be implemented promptly.

This position would suit a self–motivated, enthusiastic individual who has a willingness to learn and progress in the medical equipment industry. Exceptional customer service and strong communication skills are essential for this position as well as the ability to work within a team.

Role:

·        To carry out professional device servicing, fault finding, repair, commissioning and installations.

·        Be prepared to travel to all areas of the UK and Ireland depending on needs of the business.

·       The engineer must take pride in their work, maintain high standards of competency, and adhere to the relevant medical standards.

·        Complete all service paperwork and documentation to the agreed standard.

·        Responsible for maintaining the work area and test equipment in a safe, compliant and tidy condition.

·        Ensure that company’s policies and guidelines are adhered to at all times.

To be considered for this exciting opportunity, the following candidate attributes are essential:

·        Ideally Medical and/or Digital Pathology Laboratory device repair and maintenance experience, however we will consider candidates with good electronic engineering experience.

·        Previously worked in a technical field service role or within the medical industry and is comfortable working in a medical environment.

·        Good technical analysis report writing skills.

·        Root cause analysis experience.

·        Personable and clear communication skills.

·        Have a professional, flexible, self-motivated attitude.

·        Have a “hands on” professional approach and a “can do” attitude.
