Backend Engineer - Python / Generative AI

Founding Systems Engineer | Generative AI Startup | Python | London

Experience

• Proven track record in designing and implementing complex systems (side projects, work projects, or a combination)
• While a university degree is not mandatory, candidates with degrees are typically from Russell Group universities or equivalent institutions

Required Skills

• Python
• Pydantic
• Node.js
• API Web Frameworks (e.g., Express.js, FastAPI)
• Experience with 3rd party APIs using various auth methods
• Databases (PostgreSQL) - both using and designing schemas
• AWS (Lambda, SQS, EC2, EKS)
• Queue systems
• Docker / Containerization
• Load Balancing and DevOps experience

Additional Desirable Skills

• Familiarity with AI/ML concepts and applications
• Knowledge of existing automation platforms
• Strong understanding of security best practices
• Experience contributing to open-source projects
