Role Overview:

As an Animal Technician, your primary role is to support daily animal husbandry and welfare within our clients' facilities. If you hold a home office license, you may also perform regulated procedures. Additional responsibilities are available for those with relevant experience.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Stay updated with advancements in animal technology and propose new procedures as needed.
• Exemplify the role of an outstanding animal technician.
• Conduct daily husbandry, care, and welfare observations for all animals in the facility.
• As a Personal Licensee under the Animal (Scientific Procedures) Act 1986, manage experimental procedures within the authorities of Project Licences at the establishment. Liaise with licensees to understand their requirements.
• Make observations, maintain accurate records, and store data in writing or electronically.
• Contribute to the general maintenance of the facility and monitor and record environmental conditions in specific areas.
• Use equipment safely and appropriately.
• Assist with duties in other areas of the Biological Resources Unit, as needed.
