Are you a seasoned Skills lead with a passion for delivering successful projects in the nuclear industry?

We are a new government body leading the charge in delivering secure and sustainable nuclear energy for Britain, is seeking a Skills Lead to join our team.

A largely external-facing role that involves representing our organisation in the implementation of the national nuclear strategic plan for skills. Supports cross-sector collaboration and works with senior stakeholders across industry and government to deliver against our strategic objectives. Works closely with the Talent Development Lead to ensure that future skills pipeline accurately reflects our needs and that interventions to address critical skills shortages are incorporated.


Responsibilities:


  • Align the organisation's talent development strategy with the national nuclear strategic plan for skills interventions.
  • Represent us at national nuclear strategic plan steering groups and foster collaboration between government and industry.
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive skills pipeline strategy, including gap analysis and action planning.
  • Identify and share best practice for innovative learning programs that address critical skills shortages and support the development of a highly skilled nuclear workforce.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders within the nuclear industry, government agencies, and educational institutions.
  • Collaborate with industry partners to share best practices and develop collaborative initiatives.
  • Represent us at industry events and conferences to promote the organisation's skills development efforts.
  • Monitor our employee development and identify skill gaps as part of continuous development.
  • Foster a culture of knowledge sharing and collaboration within the organisation.
  • Facilitate knowledge transfer and succession planning initiatives.
  • Hold themself accountable for the successful implementation of the national nuclear strategic plan for skills within our organisation.
  • Ensure learning programs align with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and the organisation's business objectives.
  • Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with other HR functions, such as talent acquisition and compensation, to ensure a seamless employee experience.
  • Stay up-to-date on industry trends and best practices in nuclear skills development.


Knowledge, Skills and Experience required:


· Possess a comprehensive understanding of the nuclear industry, its current and future skill needs, and emerging technologies.

· Strong knowledge of adult learning best practices, instructional design methodologies, and performance management frameworks.

· Familiarity with various learning delivery methods (e.g., classroom, e-learning, blended learning).

· Strong stakeholder engagement skills both in industry and government


Qualifications


· Degree in Human Resources Development, Learning & Development, Nuclear Engineering or a related field preferred.
