Role Description


Are you an experienced Commercial Electrician with a recognized UK electrical qualification seeking a new adventure in the renewable industry? We are looking for candidates based in the area of the M62 corridor to allow balanced travel times to a range of UK locations. While solar PV experience is preferred, it is not essential as training will be provided. The role will require nationwide travel, and you need to have full UK driving license. Naturally, a company van will be provided.


What will you do?

-Support the design team on solar PV projects ranging from 20kW to 500kW, with some projects over 1MW.

-Conduct site surveys to assess requirements for commercial solar PV installations.

-Carry out AC electrical installations to facilitate solar panel systems.

-Perform plantroom installations of solar inverters and associated equipment.

-Assist with installation costings to support project design and proposals.

-Commission solar systems and provide a professional handover to clients.

-Troubleshoot and resolve faults or issues with solar PV systems.

-Manage 5–15 projects simultaneously, handling different stages of installation and commissioning.

-Oversee and manage projects remotely as needed.

-Ensure full compliance with electrical regulations and internal standards.

-Participate in project Health & Safety management, including preparing Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS).

-Managing and ensuring control over stock levels and participating in forecasting and purchasing in collaboration with the finance team.


What do you need to have for this role to be successful?


-Qualified electrician with relevant electrical qualifications to UK national standards (e.g., NVQ Level 3, 18th Edition, ECS Card)

-Strong knowledge of electrical installations, maintenance, and testing

-Experience working on large-scale projects

-Full UK driving license (required for travel to sites).

-Methodical, accurate and process focused approach

-Strong understanding of electrical installations and plantroom setups.

-Familiarity with RAMS, Health & Safety protocols and documentation.

-Excellent troubleshooting and fault-finding skills.

-Solar PV experience is preferred but not essential, as training will be provided.
