Engineering and Maintenance Manager

We are looking for an Engineering Manager to oversee the engineering team and ensure the efficient operation and maintenance of all manufacturing equipment and facilities. You will play a crucial role in driving continuous improvement initiatives, CAPEX projects, optimising processes, and ensuring the highest standards of safety and reliability.

Role and responsibilities

Team Leadership:

• Lead, and develop a team of engineers. Fostering a culture of collaboration and high performance.

Process Improvement:

• Identify opportunities for process optimisation, cost reduction, and efficiency improvements. Implement best practices and innovative solutions.

• Develop contingency plans and train staff accordingly.

• Develop and implement a comprehensive preventive and predictive maintenance program to maximise equipment uptime and extend asset life

Supervision and Management

• Oversee engineering projects from concept to completion on time and within budget.

• Report on KPI’s.

• Collaborate with external vendors and contractors to secure necessary products and services.

• Manage supplier relationships.

• Manage any equipment failures or breakdowns, ensuring minimal disruption to production.

• Participation in on-call/standby rota outside of normal working hours to support 24 hour production.

Safety and Compliance

• Ensure all maintenance and engineering activities comply with safety regulations, company policies, and industry standards.

• Promote a safe working environment, and a zero accidents culture.

• Develop and implement a comprehensive preventive and predictive maintenance program to maximise equipment uptime and extend asset life

Required qualifications and experience:

• BEng preferred.

• HND of Equivalent in engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, instrument Control and Process Engineering) may be considered

• SAP- intermediate level experience

• Project management experience and qualifications are desired.

• Significant experience of working in a similar business/manufacturing environment.

Working hours: Office based Monday to Thursday, with hybrid option on a Friday.

Monday to Thursday 9.00 - 17.30 onsite

Friday 9.00 - 14.45 Hybrid option
