Assistant Quantity Surveyor

Our client are a well respected social house builder based in the Birmingham area and they are currently in the market for an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join the buusy Commercial department.

As the Assistant Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for assisting the commercial delivery of residential development schemes. Assist the Surveying department with cost management for development and contracting projects from procurement to the completion of sub-contract final accounts.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years experience of working for a new build house builder as a Trainee or Assistant Quantity Surveyor.

Experience

• HNC / Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying / Construction management or equivalent
• A good understanding or building regulations and legal obligations
• A good knowledge or construction methods and materials
• Strong mathematical and IT ability
• Good understanding of standard measurement rules
• Strong Microsoft Excel knowledge
• Ability to assess and analyse information
• Good business sense
• Good understanding of budget management
