We are working with a leading investment manager seeking a highly experienced Head of Legal/GC to join their dynamic and growing team. This is a unique opportunity to play a strategic role within a fast-paced, forward-thinking firm.
The successful candidate will be at the forefront of shaping the legal and regulatory framework for the firm’s growing business, and will have a significant impact on its continued success.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the legal function, providing strategic legal advice to senior management and stakeholders across the business.
- Oversee legal matters related to investments, funds, commercial law, corporate M&A and general corporate governance, ensuring all operations comply with relevant regulations (FCA, AIFMD, MiFID II, etc.).
- Work closely with compliance, risk, and operations teams to identify and mitigate legal risks.
- Provide leadership on regulatory matters, staying up-to-date with changes impacting the investment management sector.
- Manage external legal counsel as needed, balancing cost-efficiency with quality advice.
Key Requirements:
- Qualified solicitor with 10+ years PQE, ideally with a background in asset management or financial services.
- Experience advising senior stakeholders on complex legal matters and M&A transactions would be ideal but not a prerequisite
- Commercially astute, with the ability to provide practical and strategic legal advice.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to liaise effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
