Summary
A multinational utility scale Solar & co-located BESS developer, owner and operator are looking for a Senior Electrical Engineer to join their growing London team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Engineer to work on some exciting renewable energy projects.
You will oversee the technical evaluation of designs, drive optimisation initiatives, and contribute to the growth of the companies solar and storage portfolio.
This is a hybrid role with office and home working options. The client also offers 30 days a year of fully remote working from any location.
What You Will Do:
- Assist Project Engineers and Construction/Development teams with electrical engineering issues.
- Provide electrical design inputs for PV and BESS projects.
- Prepare Employer’s Requirements for electrical works in solar PV and BESS projects.
- Promote standardization in electrical designs to reduce CAPEX and OPEX.
- Prepare clear and concise documentation, including detailed design specifications.
- Collaborate with vendors to specify electrical equipment.
- Evaluate electrical calculations and designs of PV plants, including interface to HV/MV substation designers and LV distribution.
- Participate in project meetings and engage with external stakeholders.
- Provide technical assistance during project development.
- Review electrical designs submitted by contractors against employer’s requirements.
- Provide guidance and mentoring to junior electrical engineers.
Your Profile:
- Minimum BEng qualification in electrical engineering.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in the design and construction stages of power generators.
- Technical understanding of grid connections for generators.
- Proficient in electrical design software (AUTOCAD, PowerFactory, etc.).
- In-depth familiarity with PV and BESS components.
- Experience in PV and BESS plant design optimization.
- Proficiency in translating engineering issues into CAPEX and OPEX assumptions.
- Knowledge of international electrical standards related to PV and BESS.
- Commissioning experience is an advantage but not essential.
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and ability to make decisions in a fast-paced emerging market.
- Team-oriented with a positive attitude, determination, and flexibility, able to work well under pressure and meet deadlines.
