Senior Java Software Engineer

London (2 days a week)

£80,000 - £90,000 +10% Bonus

Java 17+, SpringBoot, React/ Typescript, Kubernetes, Kafka, AWS

This is a great opportunity for a Senior Java Software Engineer to a travel experiences business. This already profitable business are now embarking on their next chapter and as they're now coming to the end of a digital transformation and are now building a range of completely new features, enhancing and improving their current product offering.

As the Senior Java Software Engineer you’ll lead backend services and API integrations with a huge number of 3rd party’s across their web and mobile platforms supporting millions of transactions weekly. You’ll join a cross-functional team, being the go-to for these services and will contribute to architectural design and technology decision making across the product..

Technologies:

Java 17+ / Spring Boot / React / Typescript
MySQL / Kafka / DocDB
Cucumber / Selenium / Cypress / Pact / Gatling
AWS / Kubernetes / Elastic stack / Prometheus / Grafana / Jaeger

Responsibilities as the Senior Java Software Engineer:

Assume technical ownership of feature development end-to-end
Advocate for best coding practices within the team
Lead architecture decision making and technology decision making
Design, build, review, test, and deploy services and code in live production environments
Uphold development standards and prioritize best coding practices
Tackle ambiguous and unexplored problem domains

Experience needed as the Senior Java Software Engineer:

Backend development experience, working with production level Java based applications
Strong system architecture and system design skills
Familiarity with cloud services (preferably AWS)
A passion for ensuring best practices and coding excellence are adhered to
Experience leading feature development/ projects end-to-end
Adaptability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment
