Seabird is a hardtech climate startup disrupting the marine industry with innovative electric propulsion solutions. As the first dedicated Head of Marketing, you will play a critical role in defining and executing the company's marketing strategy from the ground up. This is a generalist marketing role, where you'll take charge of the entire marketing function, covering strategy & planning, branding, digital marketing, content creation, product marketing, PR, and events.
Seabird offers a startup environment where you'll collaborate closely with the Head of Commercial and the technical team to position Seabird as a leader in the electric marine propulsion space. Your work will be instrumental in shaping the company's brand and driving its growth in a fast-evolving industry.
Key Responsibilities
- End-to-End Marketing Management: Take full ownership of all marketing activities, including digital strategy, branding, content creation, communications, and public relations.
- Strategic Marketing Leadership: Develop and implement a B2B marketing strategy that supports Seabird's growth objectives in the electric marine propulsion market.
- Brand Development: Establish and evolve Seabird's brand identity, ensuring consistency across all platforms and touchpoints, and aligning with industry trends and customer needs.
- Market Research & Insights: Conduct thorough market research to understand industry trends, competitive positioning, and customer demands, ensuring Seabird stays ahead.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with engineers, product managers, and the commercial team to translate complex technical product features into compelling and easy-to-understand marketing messages.
- Campaign Leadership: Design and execute marketing campaigns, including product launches and events, to highlight Seabird's cutting-edge electric propulsion solutions.
- Budget Oversight: Manage and optimize the marketing budget, ensuring efficient use of resources to maximise return on investment across all channels.
About you
- 5+ years of experience in a broad marketing role, ideally in B2B technology or a related industry, with a proven ability to build and execute marketing strategies from scratch.
- Experience in industries such as marine technology, electric propulsion, maritime, offshore, or environmental technology is a strong advantage.
- Proven experience in launching new products and managing integrated marketing campaigns across multiple channels (digital, social, content, PR, etc.).
- Strong experience in brand development, including the creation and enforcement of brand guidelines that resonate with the market.
- Ability to handle the full marketing mix, from digital marketing and social media management to PR, communications, and event planning.
- Experience working with technical teams to translate complex product features into clear, market-friendly messaging.
