In your role as a Senior Fire Engineer, your engagement will encompass all aspects of the fire engineering cycle. While your role will be multifaceted, your primary responsibility will be leading the design and implementation of fire strategies across various projects, including superhigh-rise buildings, metros, malls, boutique office structures, theatres, stadiums, hospitals, and everything in between.


Key Responsibilities

·        Attend and make a positive contribution to both internal and external client meetings as we strive to continually improve Joule Group and the wider fire safety industry. Uphold a consistently high standard of excellence across all aspects of fire engineering.

·        Offer mediation and conflict resolution to address arising issues in a manner that fosters a positive work environment.

·        Stay informed about emerging technologies and innovations in the field of fire engineering and share pertinent updates with the team.

·        Discover and nurture business prospects while promoting the services provided within the Joule Group.

·        Possess a comprehensive understanding of relevant legislation and advocate for the regular review and enhancement of procedures to align with current requirements.

·        Oversee engineering projects and synchronise resources and tasks to meet time and budgetary objectives.

·        Create fire engineering solutions for projects and ensure the execution of the fire engineering strategy.

·        Formulate fire strategies and provide guidance to clients on complying with fire safety regulations and industry standards.

·        Support professional development of the team and promote skills-sharing initiatives.

·        Take on the responsibility of preparing fee proposals, engaging in business development initiatives, and establishing a network of clients. 

·        Support the recruitment initiatives and participate in the decision-making team during interviews for potential new joiners.

·        Work closely with colleagues across all offices and support fire engineers on all levels of projects.

·        To operate within Joule Group terms and conditions, policies and quality assurance systems.

·        To undertake other duties within the competence of the post holder as may be reasonably required from time to time.

·        To ensure that when entering site, all Health and Safety regulations are strictly complied with and that all protective/safety equipment is fully utilised.

·        To communicate effectively (verbally, in writing and electronically) to meet the job purpose. 

 

3.    Qualifications/Attributes

·        Master’s Degree/ Bachelor’s Degree in Fire Safety Engineering or equivalent qualification related to built environment.

·        Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office packages.

·        Strong numerical skills.

·        Good problem-solving abilities and analytical planning skills.

·        Excellent communicator (verbal, written and electronical).

Experience

·        Minimum 5 years’ experience in the fire engineering field within the consultancy environment. 

·        Ability to effectively use the full suite of MS Office packages in your day-to-day work activities.

·        Proficient with BIM & Bluebeam

·        Solid knowledge of fire engineering software packages and have a fire engineering specialism such as smoke analysis, evacuation, structural, radiation etc. 

·        Experience working as part of a wider team.

·        Chartership or working towards.
