Head of Internal Sales - Asset Management


It is essential to have a background in any of the following – Asset Management, Wealth Management, Investment / Wrap Platform, Life & Pensions / Tax Efficient Investments or FinTech.

The Role


The Internal Business Development team are responsible for outbound sales activity focused on intermediary / financial adviser relationships in the UK. Each of the team work alongside a dedicated Regional Business Development Manager to drive inflows into their given region.


We are looking for an ambitious and driven individual to lead the Internal Business Development function and drive the team forward in line with strategic growth plans. We have ambitious plans to further grow our funds proposition and enhance our existing Business Relief suite of services.


This individual will form part of the Business Development leadership team alongside the Sales & Marketing Director and Director of Regional Business Development, working closely with Strategic Partnerships, Marketing, Client Services and the Investment team.


The role requires an experienced and knowledgeable sales professional who has experience of the Business Development role and at least 3 years’ experience leading a team within a similar financial services organisation.



Primary Job Functions

• Overall responsibility for leading the Internal Business Development team, including induction, training, development and day-to-day activity

• Responsibility for creating, driving and monitoring campaigns through the team

• Responsibility for driving and maintaining an exceptional level of service across the team

• Supporting the team in developing strong business plans and assessing the execution and success of these

• Ensuring the team maintains high quality records on the internal systems such as Salesforce, 8x8 and SharePoint

• Direct line management of team leaders and Senior BDMs, including regular 1:1s, quarterly reviews, call listening and day-to-day support

• Responsibility for the recruitment of new and replacement roles across the team and onboarding of new team members

• Using CRM and other management data to monitor and drive performance against KPI activity targets


Secondary Job Functions

• As a senior member of the sales team, you will also be required to host and attend webinars and events

• Constantly seeking new opportunities to develop the business and brand awareness

• Share best practice and contribute feedback to help with continuous improvement

• Involvement in supporting projects that may impact the team

• Ensure a good flow of information between colleagues and other teams

• Occasional travel across the UK to support events and develop relationships with intermediaries

• Striving to constantly improve product and industry knowledge

• Enhancing relationships with industry third parties and attending networking opportunities

• Providing feedback to the management team to help shape future product development

Preferred skills/knowledge

• Must have experience working within the intermediated investment marketplace

• Knowledge and/or experience of funds and/or tax efficient services

• Minimum of 3 years’ experience leading a team

• Strong understanding of tax structures used by Financial Advisers – Offshore Bonds, SIPPs, ISAs, and Trusts

• An element of macro-economic and wider markets knowledge and interest
