Our client, a prominent player in the life sciences and manufacturing sector, is currently seeking a Laboratory Technician for a contract-based role in Leeds. This is a temporary assignment where your microbiology expertise will be utilised in testing food samples.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conducting microbiological testing on food samples
- Maintaining accurate and detailed records of laboratory results
- Ensuring all laboratory equipment is properly calibrated and maintained
- Adhering to strict quality control protocols and safety standards
- Collaborating with team members to ensure efficient workflow and accurate results
- Preparing samples and reagents for testing
- Performing routine maintenance and troubleshooting of laboratory equipment
- Handling and disposing of hazardous materials in accordance with regulations
Job Requirements:
- Experience in a laboratory setting with a focus on microbiology
- Proficient in standard laboratory techniques and procedures
- Familiarity with the latest laboratory equipment and technologies
- Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team
- Degree or equivalent qualification in a relevant life science discipline
Duration and Working Hours:
- 2 Week Assignment
- Monday to Friday, 08:30 - 16:30
