Who we are looking for

This is an exciting opportunity to join a forward-thinking Communications & Events team that is instrumental in defining KOIBIRD’s presence both online and offline. The team curates unforgettable brand experiences, from in-store events to impactful communication strategies that connect with our audience.


The ideal candidate will possess strong proactive problem-solving skills, anticipating challenges and implementing effective solutions. With a high level of self-motivation and initiative, they will take ownership of tasks, lead projects, and manage communications with both brands and internal teams. Exceptional communication skills are crucial, ensuring all stakeholders remain informed and aligned with project goals and progress at every stage.


Responsibilities:

Strategic Communications Planning:

  • Develop and implement seasonal comprehensive communication and PR strategies that align with KOIBIRD’s brand values and business goals, alongside the PR and Communications Director.
  • Work with the PR and Communications Director on strategy for upcoming collection launches.
  • Monitor and analyse industry trends to inform media pitching and event ideation.

Media Relations:

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with fashion & lifestyle editors, journalists, and influencers.
  • Secure media coverage in top-tier fashion and lifestyle publications, online platforms, and broadcast media.
  • Coordinate press visits, interviews, and media events to maximise exposure
  • Manage and execute call-ins, loans and send outs for press and influencers.
  • Pack call-ins and loans, work closely with the store team to ensure the process runs smoothly. 
  • Manage the press coverage tracker and send weekly updates to the wider team.
  • Send weekly press blast emails with KOIBIRD news, exclusive collections, product updates etc.
  • Own and manage all press gifting.
  • Check coverage daily online/offline (for organic as well as planned) within all supplements, papers, and magazines.

Content Creation:

  • Write and edit press releases, media kits, and other communication materials.
  • Ensure all content is on-brand, consistent in style, quality, and tone of voice.

Event Management:

  • Plan, and execute PR events, including product launches, store openings, and exclusive press previews.
  • Coordinate logistics, manage event timelines and oversee guest lists to ensure successful execution.
  • Leverage events to generate buzz and media coverage.
  • Proactivity suggest creative partners to Founder for events and activations.

Influencer and Partnership Programs:

  • Identify and collaborate with influencers and brand ambassadors to amplify KOIBIRD’s reach, under the guidance of the Social Media Manager.

Internal Communications:

  • Ensure effective communication within the organisation by developing and distributing coverage and relevant communications updates.
  • Work closely with content and social media teams to ensure that PR is aligned with shoots, editorial and the social calendar. Additionally, keep the store team informed of media/ influencer appointments and collaborate on upcoming instore events.
  • Maintain strong product knowledge and be aware of stock levels, documenting and notifying the wider team on product out on loan.
  • Actively maintain relationships across internal departments to ensure a seamless flow of communication.
  • Foster a positive and informed internal culture

Reporting:

  • Track and measure the effectiveness of communication and PR efforts using relevant metrics.
  • Prepare regular reports for senior management, highlighting key achievements and areas for improvement.

Budget Management:

  • Be aware of the PR budget, ensuring all activities are cost-effective and within allocated resources, alongside the Director.
  • Negotiate contracts with vendors, agencies, and partners to maximise ROI.

Team Leadership and Development:

  • Mentor and guide interns, providing training and development opportunities.
  • Foster a collaborative and creative team environment.
  • Lead by example, demonstrating professionalism and a commitment to excellence

Agency Management

  • Oversee KOIBIRD’s external PR agency, ensuring they have the necessary materials and resources for the season. Collaborate with the Director to guide and manage the agency in achieving the agreed-upon KPIs.
