Job Description: Inspector - Electrical
18 + per hour
Department: Quality
Reporting to: Quality Manager

Role Purpose:
As an Inspector - Electrical, your primary responsibility will be to ensure that the physical requirements of the product are met through meticulous verification processes. You will maintain the highest levels of vigilance and rigor throughout the product and service assurance stages to uphold quality and safety standards.
Main Duties:
Inspection and Testing: Perform regular and thorough inspections and tests to ensure that Quality and Safety Standards are consistently upheld.
Material and Product Inspection: Inspect materials, parts, sub-assemblies, and final products, focusing on both electrical and electro-mechanical items within the business.
In-Process Inspection: Coordinate with the Manufacturing Manager to inspect Work In Progress (WIP) parts, sub-assemblies, and assemblies.
Goods Inwards Inspection: Collaborate with the Stores Supervisor to inspect incoming goods, ensuring they meet manufacturing requirements.
Supplier Liaison: Visit supplier premises as necessary to conduct source inspections of goods and materials.
Housekeeping: Maintain cleanliness and organization within the inspection department and ensure inspection equipment is in good condition.
Non-Conformance Reporting: Raise Non-Conformance reports and corrective actions, ensuring effective and timely resolutions.
Quality Assurance Compliance: Adhere to the Company Quality Assurance System and Procedures.
Health & Safety Compliance: Follow the Company Health & Safety Policy and comply with statutory regulations.
Inspection Area Maintenance: Assist in the upkeep of designated inspection areas.
Inspection Equipment / Calibration:
Ensure proper storage and maintenance of calibration and measurement equipment.
Confirm that production tooling complies with the latest standards and that records are updated accordingly.

Person Specification:
Communication: Excellent communication skills.
Organization: Strong organizational skills.
Attention to Detail: High level of attention to detail.
Travel: Willingness to travel as required.
Flexibility: A flexible approach to work.
Security Clearance: Ability to achieve SC security clearance is essential.

Skills and Experience:
Electrical Inspection: Experienced and competent in inspecting electrical harnesses, looms, and I/O cabinets.
Regulatory Frameworks: Experience working within an ISO 9001 / AS/EN 9100 regulatory framework.
Calibration & Document Control: Competence in calibration control and document control coordination.
Inspection Standards: Experience with First Article Inspections (FAIRs) AS9102 or PPAP and Source Inspections.
Technical Competence: Ability to interpret drawings, technical specifications, and electrical schematics.
Measurement Systems: Experience working with both metric and imperial measurements.
Mechanical Inspection: Experience in mechanical inspection is advantageous.
Qualifications:
Engineering Qualification: BTEC Qualification in Engineering or equivalent training and experience.
