Role: Teaching Assistant

Location: Thornton Heath, Croydon

Hours: Full time - Monday - Friday (8:30AM - 4:00PM)

Start date: ASAP

87 - 105 daily rate

Tempest Education are looking for an experienced Teaching Assistant to work at one of our partner primary schools in Thornton Heath, Croydon! Your role will be providing support to a variety of children in KS1/2 on a 1:1, 1:2 and small group basis who are diagnosed with Autism and additional learning needs.

The school is a 2-form entry mainstream primary school that is committed to ensuring children are thriving and staff are consistently supported.

To thrive as a Teaching Assistant, you need to have:

• A genuine passion for supporting students with higher needs.
• Previous experience working with SEN children.
• Have a natural enthusiasm for working with children.
• The ability to monitor and record a child's progress.
• An understanding of safeguarding children.
• A positive, caring, energetic, can-do attitude.

Roles will include:

• 1:1 support with a child or small groups of children.
• Supporting the class as well as assisting the class teacher as and when needed.
• Building and maintaining relationships with parents.
• Supervising children during activities
• Managing challenging behaviour
• Ensuring children are motivated to learn!
