HR Assistant

• Reports to: HR Assistant Director
• Location: Birmingham
• Salary: up to 31,500
• Type: Full-time, onsite (not hybrid/remote)

Dovetail and Slate are recruiting on behalf of a leading education provider based in Birmingham.

Role Purpose

• Support the HR team by handling administrative tasks related to hiring, training, pensions, and employee relations to ensure everything runs smoothly.
• Ensure all processes follow company rules and legal requirements, especially when it comes to recruitment and compliance.

Main Duties

• Review and process job vacancy or contract forms, ensuring all information is correct and complete before sending them for approval.
• Create and post job advertisements in the right places, and make sure the finance team knows to invoice for the costs.
• Contact external recruitment agencies to get the best deal on their services and coordinate resumes they send for job openings.
• Help with shortlisting candidates, arranging interviews, and sending job offers, while keeping the hiring manager informed every step of the way.
• Serve as the main contact for new hires, preparing offer letters, contracts, and other important documents until they start work.
• Ensure all employee information is properly recorded and up-to-date, both in paper and electronic systems, while meeting legal and company requirements.

Requirements

• HR experience
• CIPD qualified or working towards
• Experience scheduling interviews
• Level 2 Maths & English
• Able to pass a DBS check
• No previous convictions
