Are you ready to embark on a journey with a transformative educational institution in the heart of the South West?
If so, the college are seeking to appoint a passionate, dedicated, and forward-thinking Curriculum Director to lead the development of our literacy and numeracy curriculum.
The post-holder will oversee the literacy and numeracy provision across the whole College, making a tangible difference to the lives of learners at the college. The post-holder will also be a valued part of the College's Senior Leadership Team, who work together closely to ensure that we continue to meet our learners' individual needs.
This post is suitable for an experienced teacher who would like to add an additional dimension to their practice, or an ambitious teacher looking to take on a new challenge. Experience of teaching GCSE English or Mathematics, or equivalent qualifications, is essential and previous experience of teaching learners with additional or special educational needs would be a significant advantage.
The post-holder will be responsible for providing a clear vision of an inclusive, high performing, values-driven literacy and numeracy curriculum which supports all learners to improve their use of number and language and to make significant and sustained progress towards achieving the GCSE level 2 standard in English and Mathematics.
At the college, we prioritise fostering strong connections with learners and employers, making our learning environment and College ethos truly exceptional. Therefore, our ideal candidate will be a current or ambitious future leader who can demonstrate an empathetic approach, a sound pedagogical understanding of the art of teaching literacy and numeracy skill, and a broad range of experience in working with young people and adults across a diverse educational setting.
