The Company


Digby Morris’ client is an award winning privately owned consultancy serving clients in Gloucestershire, Hereford & Worcestershire and the wider Midlands and South West. A team of qualified professionals offer advice in Cost Management and Quantity Surveying, Project Management and Contracts Administration as well as a portfolio of other specialist services to a broad cross section of client types. As they look to further expand the business, they are seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their team.


This is a great opportunity to join a well-established but growing consultancy with genuine long-term progression prospects.


You will be taking on projects at varying stages, from inception through to completion. The projects will vary in sizes ranging from £2-5million predominantly in the high end residential market. The role will also include traditional PQS duties, Contract Administration and Project Management. Tasks will include, but not limited to (Depending on the commission);


Pre-Contract Duties;

Preparation of Budget Cost Plans.

• Measurement and Preparation of Bill of Quantities.

• Preparation & Management of a Tender Process.

• Tender Analysis and Reporting

• Preparation of Contracts.


Post Contract Duties;

• Regular Cost Reporting

• Assessing Contractor Variations

• Assessing Contractor Applications

• Final Account Negotiations

For the position, we would be looking for the following skills/experience:

• Some experience in a PQS is desirable

• Experience with Cost Planning, Bill of Quantities and Post-Contract QS Duties.

• Knowledge of JCT contracts.

• Good written communication and presentation skills.

• Confident when it comes to verbal communication.

• Hold a full UK driving licence.

• Relevant Quantity Surveying Degree.

Essential Personal Skills:

• Good interpersonal skills, able to interact with colleagues, clients and wider team in a professional manner.

• Diligent with attention to detail.

• Able to think ahead and problem solve.

• Able to work within a team
