The Mechanical Pipe Stress Engineer will be responsible for the mechanical design of the packaged equipment piping design. Preferably specialized in piping stress analysis you have the capability to perform the design and/or to work with mechanical team defining design packages and checking design deliverables. Part of the project team, you give design inputs to the designers and handle the design matters with clients, contractors, vendors and/or third parties.



A Day in The Life Typically Includes:


  • Perform the mechanical design piping stress analysis for the process package or coordinate (Provide inputs – Review outputs) the mechanical design with the respective Design disciplines (In-house or subcontracted) for the timely submission of all design deliverables, calculations, reports, drawings in compliance with the contract project requirements.
  • Preparation of the design inputs for the mechanical designers and review and/or approval of mechanical engineering deliverables, General Arrangement and detail drawings, etc…
  • Ensure the equipment designed meets the necessary design codes and standards, project specifications and Good Engineering practices.
  • Resolve or manage the resolution of the design issues with the parties involves in the project (Client, Procurement, QC, KES Workshops, Suppliers...)
  • Handle customer comments and technical clarifications and interface with the client for design issues until resolution.
  • Participate in KOM, Progress meetings, design review meeting (As needed).
  • Work in accordance with the company procedures and standards.



What You Will Need:


  • Strong adherence for safety and demonstrated safe work habits.
  • Experience as a Mechanical engineer for complex Mechanical systems or packages including Piping.
  • Experience in preparation / review of calculation notes and reports.
  • Demonstratable track record of delivering on time, within budget, with quality and stakeholder satisfaction.
  • Excellent communication skills, verbal and written.
  • Well organized and able to work independently.
  • Fluent in English language and strong report writing skills.



What Will Put You Ahead?


  • Mechanical Engineering degree with experience in packages with piping.
  • Experience in the oil & gas and/or Chemicals/Petrochemicals industry
  • Good Knowledge of Caesar or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of GRP piping design.
  • Knowledge of Welding Techniques and related documentation.
  • Experience in Pressure Vessels and Skid Structures would be an advantage.
  • Experienced with connection design software (Limcon or equivalent)
  • Experienced working with StaadPro and/or equivalent structural design software would be an advantage.
  • Good Knowledge of Compress or PV Elite or equivalent would be an advantage.
