DevOps Engineer


Location: Exeter (this is not fully remote role!)

Salary: up to £60k



Are you passionate about DevOps and ready to take on a new challenge? We are looking for a skilled DevOps Engineer to join our dynamic Engineering team and help build a cutting-edge gamification engine. In this role, you'll work closely with our Software Engineering Manager and Head of Data Engineering to architect and develop a modern, scalable infrastructure hosted on AWS.



What You'll Do:


  • Contribute to the architecture and implementation of our cloud platform strategy.
  • Champion DevSecOps best practices throughout the engineering team.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to deploy new features and functionality seamlessly.
  • Enhance and optimize our existing infrastructure.
  • Build and manage infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (IAC) with Terraform and the Terragrunt framework.
  • Advocate for and implement automated testing for IAC using tools like Terratest.
  • Improve our CI/CD processes to enable multiple non-disruptive deployments.
  • Apply best practices for Kubernetes deployments using tools like Helm.
  • Implement robust observability and monitoring solutions to support proactive maintenance.



Qualifications & Skills:


  • 5+ years of experience in an AWS DevOps or related infrastructure role.
  • Proficiency with Terraform or CloudFormation.
  • Experience with Terragrunt and Terratest is a plus.
  • Proven experience in building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines.
  • Strong communication skills, capable of engaging with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Knowledge of security best practices in a DevOps context is advantageous.
  • Hands-on experience with Kubernetes.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages like Python or Bash.
  • Familiarity with agile methodologies is beneficial.
