DevOps Engineer
Location: Exeter (this is not fully remote role!)
Salary: up to £60k
Are you passionate about DevOps and ready to take on a new challenge? We are looking for a skilled DevOps Engineer to join our dynamic Engineering team and help build a cutting-edge gamification engine. In this role, you'll work closely with our Software Engineering Manager and Head of Data Engineering to architect and develop a modern, scalable infrastructure hosted on AWS.
What You'll Do:
- Contribute to the architecture and implementation of our cloud platform strategy.
- Champion DevSecOps best practices throughout the engineering team.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to deploy new features and functionality seamlessly.
- Enhance and optimize our existing infrastructure.
- Build and manage infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (IAC) with Terraform and the Terragrunt framework.
- Advocate for and implement automated testing for IAC using tools like Terratest.
- Improve our CI/CD processes to enable multiple non-disruptive deployments.
- Apply best practices for Kubernetes deployments using tools like Helm.
- Implement robust observability and monitoring solutions to support proactive maintenance.
Qualifications & Skills:
- 5+ years of experience in an AWS DevOps or related infrastructure role.
- Proficiency with Terraform or CloudFormation.
- Experience with Terragrunt and Terratest is a plus.
- Proven experience in building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines.
- Strong communication skills, capable of engaging with stakeholders at all levels.
- Knowledge of security best practices in a DevOps context is advantageous.
- Hands-on experience with Kubernetes.
- Proficiency in scripting languages like Python or Bash.
- Familiarity with agile methodologies is beneficial.
