Test Manager (12-Month Fixed Term Contract)

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a dynamic team on a 12-month fixed-term contract, working with colleagues across the institution to create a testing function that will support the delivery of high-quality, technically enabled change.

Ellucian Banner knowledge/experience is essential and mandatory, or another Student System.

About the Role: As an experienced Test Manager, you will be responsible for all aspects of testing within the IT estate, covering technical system and integration testing, user acceptance testing (UAT), and both functional and non-functional testing. You will have the chance to significantly enhance quality across the organization and provide expert guidance to stakeholders at all levels. You will define the test strategy to include automation, tool sets etc.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage all testing activities across the IT estate.
• Define and communicate the vision for test capabilities.
• Schedule and execute testing within program delivery.
• Develop and maintain reports and analytics to track progress against key performance indicators.
• Support testing staff to ensure the delivery of high-quality test processes and outcomes.

Essential Qualifications and Skills:

• Relevant degree in technical, engineering, or science disciplines, or equivalent technical experience.
• Proven ability to manage fundamental test processes in system, system integration, and user acceptance testing environments.
• Experience in planning and progressing test activities within broad professional or organizational guidelines.
• Ability to understand and solve complex, longstanding problems using professional knowledge.
• Structured, logical, and critical thinking skills to guide stakeholders.
• Innovative thinking to enhance the quality and efficiency of the testing function.
