Regional Development Lead

Children North East is a large North East based children’s charity that works across the region, with some work extending across England, Wales and Scotland. We exist because growing up can be hard. We want all babies, children and young people to be happy and healthy, and to grow up feeling safe and loved, resilient to the challenges they may face, and valued and confident. 

Our operational work went through a transformative restructure in 2023 and due to this transformation and growth we are looking to recruit a Regional Development Lead who will support the new Operational Development Director in ensuring our current and future strategies will enable us to meet our ambitions.

This role will focus on:

Continuing to developing and grow our external participation, consultation and research work.

Taking a lead in developing our internal voice offer to the babies, children, young people and families that we work with.

Supporting, developing, implementing and selling our training offer across the North East through a new online platform providing in-house and packages of training to organisations.

Working alongside the Operational Development Director to ensure that we conduct thorough research on potential new areas of work, scoping current issues and trends that affect babies, children and young people.

Driving forward our current work across the North East region with support from the Operations Director and Operational Development Director.

Working alongside the Operations Development Director and the Policy team to influence and drive forward our policy and campaign work.

Each area of regional development will come with a set of project targets and KPIs to ensure that our development work has a clear focus and is driven by the strategic vision of the organisation.

Alongside the new development team, this role will hold a key position in developing current, new and future services, supporting the Operations Development Director to support them to meet their full potential, and ensure the income, safety and quality of our services are delivered to the highest standards. There will be specific collaboration with the Operational Leads to ensure that seed and pilot work are embedded into services once they reach maturity.
