Pontefract Locality Social Worker

An exciting opportunity has arisen to work for Wakefield Metropolitan District Council based in Pontefract.
This is a temporary Children's Social Worker role within the Locality Team.

In this role you will benefit from a competitive hourly rate of up to 38 per hour umbrella, dependent on experience whilst having the opportunity to work in a professional and vibrant environment. This is a hybrid role with 4 days in the office and 1 from home.

Working within the Locality Team includes but is not limited to:

Holding a caseload of children subject to Child Protection Plans and Children in Need under Section 17 of the Children's Act of 1989
Undertaking Initial Assessments under Section 17 of the Children's Act of 1989
Undertaking Core Assessments and Child Protection Enquiries under Section 47 of the Children's Act of 1989
Undertaking assessments using the Common Assessment Framework
Completion of Section 7 and Section 37 reports requested by Family Courts
Carrying out home visits for monitoring purposes/ to promote the welfare of and to safeguard the children
Liaising/Working close with partnership agencies to support the families and meet the children/young peoples needs
Producing Initial Child Protection Conference reports
Convening and chairing Core Group Meetings
Initiating and implementing Child Protection Plans
Completion of Care Proceedings
Applying for and obtaining Emergency Protection Orders
Preparing and presenting case conference reports
Completing/reviewing/implementing CIN plans
Chairing Children in Need meetings

For this position you will need hold a recognised social work qualification and be SWE registered, as well as have at least 3 years post qualifying experience.
