About the Role:

My client is a global electronics and stationary company who are currently looking for a Business Development Executive with strong analytical abilities, excellent organisational skills, and an innate curiosity. This position offers a fantastic pathway for career advancement, potentially leading to roles such as National Account Manager.


In this role, you will be instrumental in assisting the Sales team to achieve exceptional customer satisfaction and utilising data insights to uncover new business opportunities and drive sales growth. You will also oversee a small group of existing clients, enhancing your relationship management skills and working closely with valued customers to promote business development. Additionally, you will provide essential administrative support to National Account Managers and larger clients, contributing to the overall success of the organisation.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Customer Management: Handle a portfolio of loyal customers, manage inquiries, process orders, and serve as the first point of contact for new customers to drive sales.
  • Data Analysis: Analyse various data sources to identify and proactively contact new business leads, recognise potential opportunities, and pinpoint areas for sales growth.
  • Support Functions: Assist National Account Managers, Senior Planning Manager, and Sales Manager with tasks such as event bookings, mailouts, competitive market reports, and new line form completion.
  • Ecommerce Engagement: Respond to and prioritise inquiries from direct ecommerce platforms.
  • Internal Collaboration: Act as a liaison between Divisional Sales and Sales Operations to ensure effective communication and efficient order fulfilment.
  • Industry Trends: Stay updated on industry trends and new product features to maintain a competitive edge and promote continuous improvement. Provide regular reports to Senior Management with insights and recommendations.


Person Specification:


Essential:

  • Minimum 2 years of sales/account management experience.
  • Strong initiative, drive, and focus, with a passion for engaging with customers daily.
  • Excellent analytical skills for sales analysis and reporting, with experience in database maintenance being highly beneficial.
  • Outstanding written and oral communication skills with a commitment to excellent customer service.


Desirable:

  • Sales experience within consumer durable goods, stationery, or medical sectors.
  • Full, clean UK driving license for potential customer visits and trade show attendance.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and the ability to work effectively under pressure.
  • Continuous improvement mindset with the ability to identify process gaps and suggest efficiencies.
  • Proficiency in Office 365, particularly Excel and PowerPoint. Experience with CRM tools or dashboards such as HubSpot, Salesforce, or PowerBI is highly desirable.
