Gainford Group is looking for a dynamic Group Sales & Marketing Manager to join the team.


The base salary is £40,000.00 with an uncapped bonus

The Sales Manager has the responsibility and accountability of driving sales into the hotel & Leisure Venues in all areas. Developing and implementing strategies that promote the offers for all areas to key markets. Taking bookings, developing key relationships, and ensuring they are managed effectively.

You must be customer-focused by consistently delivering excellent customer service with an informed, friendly, and effective approach. To constantly exceed guest expectations, delivering the highest standards of customer service.


Description of Duties

Create a unique experience in line with the brand.


Work with the Managers to plan and implement a sales plan for the hire of spaces working to clear targets.


Manage sales and bookings, deal with inquiries, follow up with potential clients, meet clients and promote offers.


Ensure effective systems for bookings and invoicing are in place, reviewing and updating processes as required, to ensure the highest level of customer care is given.


Manage and record data of new clients.


Determine rates and prepare proposals to meet and exceed the client’s expectations.


Capture the client’s vision and effectively convey and deliver this.


Nurture and build relations with current and potential clients, conference agencies, and corporate/private supporters.


Maximise turnover and profit working to grow the business.


Identify new markets and business opportunities in the local/national market through research.


Proactively solicit new accounts for the hotels & leisure by sales calls, social media & attending/hosting events

Collaborate with team to develop and implement plans effective for enhancing sales and overall company performance.


Research to gather information regarding the market, trends, potential sales leads, and opportunities, compile and analyze.


Report any new market intelligence to competitor’s strengths/weaknesses.


Ensure the provision of proper aftercare sales support and service to clients.


Organise/be actively involved in sales meetings to discuss activities and plans.


Connect with people in a meaningful way, continually innovating to expand the reach with key corporate, business, and community organizations.


Host and entertain clients.


Conduct show rounds, fam trips as necessary.


Be aware of company and hotel policies.


Have full product knowledge of the facilities offered at the hotels and leisure venues.


Cross-sell all the estate maximising all revenue streams in all areas utilising all areas.


Manage the sales office overseeing staff ensuring they are delivering on a day-to-day basis.


Ensure that there are appropriate professional standards of behavior in the department.


Promote teamwork within the department and with other departments.


Assist in other departments during emergencies or as deemed necessary Area Managers.


Ensure that you create a professional impression on customers and team members.


To act on customer feedback relevant to your areas of responsibility. This includes customer complaints and compliments.


To assist with maintaining and improving departmental operating standards.


To keep all department team member's sales focused.
