Job Title: Junior PHP / Laravel Developer
Location: Darlington (Hybrid working)
Salary: Circa £30,000

This presents an exciting prospect, given our client's substantial growth in their Software Development team.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand project requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
- Optimise MySQL databases, including schema design, indexing, and query optimization.
- Implement data migration tasks to transfer and synchronize data between different systems and databases.
- Integrate third-party APIs and services to enhance the functionality of existing applications.
- Write clean, well-documented, and maintainable code following coding standards and best practices.
- Perform unit testing and debugging to identify and resolve software defects in a timely manner.
- Participate in code reviews to provide feedback on code quality, performance, and adherence to coding standards.
- Provide technical support and assistance to end-users, troubleshooting issues related to PHP applications and MySQL databases.
Requirements:
- Experience using Laravel framework (or another modern framework)
- Professional experience in PHP / Laravel development and MySQL database management.
- Strong understanding of MySQL database fundamentals, SQL query optimization, and database normalization.
- Familiarity with front-end technologies such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and AJAX.
- Working knowledge of version control systems such as Git.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience with Agile development methodologies is a plus.
