Operational and Engagement Manager


Role Overview

We’re looking for an Operational and Engagement Manager to lead the operational management of the Private Office functions to support the Head of Private Office. You will oversee the day-to-day operations, ensuring efficient processes, and manage the engagement activities to support the executive leadership team. You will handle FOI requests, Parliamentary Questions, and high-stakes briefings, ensuring all communications are clear, timely, and aligned with strategic goals.


Role Scope:


  • Full time hours - 37.5 per week
  • A fixed-term agreement until March 25
  • A remote work schedule with occasional office days for team meetings in London.

Key Responsibilities:


  • Governance management and secretariat support to the Head of Private Office.
  • Lead the management of FOI requests, ensuring compliance with legal requirements.
  • Oversee the preparation of responses to Parliamentary Questions and manage enquiries.
  • Develop and maintain effective communication channels with stakeholders.
  • Support the Head of Private Office on business cadence and delivery of all corporate reporting.
  • Lead on the management of Engagement and Briefings for the Chief Data and Analytical Officer (CDAO)
  • Provide support to the CDAO within meetings for action tracking.
  • Manage the Private Office commission and work tracker.


Knowledge & Skills:


  • Master’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
  • Strong background in managing complex communications, including FOI requests and Parliamentary Questions, within the public sector or healthcare.
  • Proven experience in operations management.
  • Experience in stakeholder management and managing relationships at a senior level.
  • Strong leadership and people management skills with experience in motivating high-performing teams.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision making abilities.
  • Experience in working within a Private Office is essential for this post.
  • Expertise in briefing preparation.
