Job Title: Director of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion

Location: Central London with many accessible transport / tube links

Salary: £150,00 - £175,000 plus standout benefits for the legal market

Role Overview:

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Director to join the UK office of a leading international law firm. Reporting to the firm’s Chief Inclusion Officer based in the U.S., this role will be instrumental in advancing the firm’s DEI initiatives across its UK and European offices. The ideal candidate will have experience in a senior leadership role at another law firm, with a strong track record of driving DEI strategies and fostering an inclusive work environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the development and implementation of DEI strategies, programs, and initiatives across the firm’s UK and European offices.
• Collaborate with firm leadership and the global DEI team to align local initiatives with global DEI goals and priorities.
• Act as a trusted Director to senior leaders, partners, and HR teams on DEI matters, providing guidance and support on fostering a diverse and inclusive workplace.
• Oversee the firm’s diversity recruitment and retention strategies, ensuring a diverse pipeline of legal talent.
• Drive engagement with affinity groups, diversity committees, and external networks to promote a culture of inclusion.
• Develop and deliver DEI training programs and workshops, tailored to both legal and non-legal professionals across the firm.
• Represent the firm at industry events, conferences, and external forums to enhance the firm’s DEI profile.
• Partner with clients, professional organizations, and community groups to promote collaborative DEI initiatives and partnerships.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience in a senior DEI leadership role within a law firm is essential.
• Strong understanding of diversity, equity, and inclusion best practices, its evolving landscape - particularly within the professional services sector.
• Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and build relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
• Demonstrated success in developing and implementing DEI strategies, programs, and policies.
• Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple initiatives and meet deadlines.
• Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with experience in delivering DEI training and workshops..
• A genuine passion for diversity, equity, and inclusion, with a commitment to fostering an inclusive workplace culture.
