Job Requirements/Description

We are looking for a London-based customer-facing Business Development Lead to join the team:

  • You’ll have 2 years minimum experience in a similar role within the art market and have a strong focus on revenue growth.
  • You’ll be confident and comfortable dealing with the occasional difficult or challenging personality and as an excellent, clear and empathic communicator, you will be able to put yourself in the shoes of each customer you meet and will demonstrate your understanding of their needs. Multi-lingual preferred.
  • You will act as a first point of contact for a range of new business enquiries. You will provide the guidance and support the customer requires in relation to AML and due diligence as it applies to the Art Market. Relative to the enquirers needs, you will provide ‘Discovery and Education’ calls to help illuminate - and make relatable - the impact of AML regulation on an art business and the role technology can play in helping the customer succeed with these new, complex challenges. Through the understanding you glean of the nature of the enquirers challenges, you’ll evangelize about features and tools Arcarta provides that would more effectively align with the nature of their business allowing the customer to continue to extract maximum value from the platform.
  • You will always act with the customer in mind and remain the sole point of contact for any new business by helping the customer move through the various phases of the sales funnel through - and up to - purchase.
  • In addition to closing inbound enquiries, a large portion of your role will include outbound prospecting to generate new business activities. Prospecting for new business is a vital part of the role and will involve self sourcing and scraping for additional leads to help bolster your personal pipeline. Familiarity with Apollo - and managing Apollo sequences to support outbound prospecting - is required.
  • You will successfully manage and track your engagement with all active current customers through Apollo and Monday.com, while devising new ways and approaches to build deep positive relationships with a growing customer base.
  • You will take part in weekly Deal Desk meetings - reporting to the Vice President of Customers - to devise ways to maintain deal flow and momentum in your pipeline.
  • You will take an active role in seeking and identifying new ways to improve efficiency throughout the business, devising or proposing new systemisation of workflows, approaches and tools. You will be comfortable with a great deal of autonomy.
  • You will contribute to strategic decision making and will actively and constructively challenge strategy by sharing insight about the market.
  • You will listen carefully to prospective customers, identifying changes in buyer behaviors, mindsets or attitudes and will contribute to the teams ‘Monthly Insight’ meetings where customer feedback, newly identified needs will be fed directly to the product and development team. The insight you learn will shape and inform outbound strategies you execute.
  • You will attend various physical art-market and industry events such as conferences, gallery events and exhibitions. You will be comfortable developing relationships with others and will actively seek to assist and help those you meet where you have identified a possible common fit and suitability. You will be happy to travel occasionally to support the development of new business opportunities as and when required.
  • When and where necessary you will periodically contribute to our ongoing library of articles, monthly newsletters and thought pieces. You may also take part in the recording and presentation of events that are occasionally shared and published for existing customers and as well as those events developed for new business.

How you’ll work

  • Client obsessed: Listen to customers, understand their world and perspective, develop relationships with them and help remove any obstacles
  • You’ll be looking for a mixture of both remote work and time spent with your London colleagues, spending a minimum of 3 days at convenient WeWork co-working spaces each week as you settle into the role.
  • Comfortable with the complex: You can unravel and make sense of complicated information and solve problems, while making this relatable to target demographics
  • Being accountable and honest: Conducting experiments, being open to failure and successes to inform decisions; A self-starter.
  • Action orientated: Initiate and share new opportunities with energy and enthusiasm.
  • We are a small, highly competent team that likes to get their hands dirty and this role will suit someone who prefers - or is looking for an opportunity - to work in an environment that allows for meaningful, deep work outside a large-scale corporate environment.

The Offer:

  • £40-45k annual salary + commission
  • Hybrid working weeks via the use of WeWork coworking membership to meet up with other London-based colleagues and trips to the Manchester office as and when required
  • Flexible working hours and autonomy, travel and tickets covered for attending industry events
  • Company Macbook and Stationary budget
  • 25 days paid vacation per year plus national holidays
  • AG 1 subscription, Cash Back Health Plan and AXA Health Insurance
