Product Design Engineer - Electronics and Software Development

Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled Product Design Engineer specializing in electronics and software development to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in product design for safety-critical systems, with a focus on smoke ventilation and fire safety applications. This role offers the opportunity to work on cutting-edge technology and contribute to the development of life-saving products.

Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and prototype electronic products for smoke ventilation systems from concept to production.
- Create PCB layouts and schematics using CAD tools tailored for safety-critical systems.
- Write and maintain embedded software and firmware for microcontrollers and related components.
- Ensure that firmware updates and modifications meet safety standards and industry regulations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure product compliance with smoke ventilation and fire safety standards.
- Conduct rigorous testing and validation of hardware, software, and firmware to ensure product reliability and functionality in emergency situations.
- Prepare and maintain detailed technical documentation for design, development, and compliance testing.
- Stay informed of industry trends, regulations, and emerging technologies in the field of smoke ventilation and life safety systems.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in product design, PCB layout, embedded software, and firmware development, ideally in safety-critical industries such as fire safety or HVAC.
- Proficiency with CAD tools for PCB design.
- Experience in programming languages such as C/C++ or similar for embedded systems.
- Strong understanding of microcontrollers, embedded systems, and hardware/software integration in safety-critical applications.
- Familiarity with safety testing equipment and procedures (e.g., oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, functional safety assessments).
- Strong problem-solving skills with attention to safety, reliability, and regulatory compliance.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced and regulated environment.

Day-to-day:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and develop new products.
- Create and review PCB layouts and schematics using CAD tools.
- Write and maintain embedded software and firmware for microcontrollers.
- Conduct rigorous testing and validation of hardware, software, and firmware.
- Prepare and maintain detailed technical documentation for design and compliance testing.
