The Principal Subcontracts Manager

£65,000 - £70,000

To expand our team, we are seeking a Senior Subcontracts Manager! The Principal Subcontracts Manager provides support for routine and somewhat complicated subcontract administration tasks, such as reviewing and negotiating agreements, subcontracts, and other documentation linked to contracts.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities


  • In charge of the creation and management of subcontracts in all their aspects.
  • In charge of anything from modest consulting assignments to substantial, intricate technical acquisitions.
  • Assesses specifications and drafts RFQs and RFPs with accurate assignment and prime contract flow-down clauses.
  • Assesses subcontractor proposals, looking at terms exclusions, evaluating risks, and doing cost or pricing analyses as needed.
  • Formulates a negotiating strategy, engages in negotiations, and grants subcontracts.
  • Creates and keeps track of all subcontract documentation.
  • Creates and records small company plans in compliance with legal requirements.
  • Keeps an eye on subcontractors' performance, bargains for modifications, and closes off subcontracts in compliance with corporate policies.
  • Supply chain demand planners' alignment with subcontract deliverables is ensured through input into the S&OP process.
  • Builds and preserves strong working connections with both internal and external clients.
  • Supports the updating of contractual agreements, departmental policies and procedures, and current laws and regulations through research.
  • Take part in unique projects as required.
  • Frequently tracks and reports data using the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system.
  • Before they are executed, move high-value purchase orders and contracts via the corporate approval matrix.
  • Participate in corporate and business unit cost-cutting initiatives.


Qualifications & Competencies


  • To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following qualifications and competencies:
  • Builds and preserves strong working connections with both internal and external clients.
  • Supports the updating of contractual agreements, departmental policies and procedures, and current laws and regulations through research.
  • Take part in unique projects as required.
  • Frequently tracks and reports data using the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system.

Education


  • It is beneficial to have experience working in the space and defence industries.
  • It is advantageous to have a degree in engineering or a related field in commercial or business management.
  • Extra training in government contract management, such as certifications or degrees, is advantageous.
  • More than eight (8) years of expertise with cost-type and fixed-price subcontracts for complex items or research and development under federal government contracts.
  • Proven track in creating contracts and commercial terms in an engineering setting.
  • Proven ability to assist bid teams with the flow down of terms and the understanding and management of client commercial terms.
