We are currently recruiting for an Quality Manager to join an extremely busy and expanding Manufacturing Engineering client based in Bradford.

This position has been created due to the current post holder moving overseas at the end of the year so looking to hand over to the new incumbent.

Candidates must have strong people skills with the ability to communicate across all levels of staff and look to truly educate staff in relation to QHSE process.

The role will primarily focus on management of the ISO 9001 standards on site and implementation of EN1090. Working knowledge of ISO 45001 and 14001 is also required to upkeep standards on site.

The successful candidate will have a demonstrable background working within a similar role with exposure to working within a Manufacturing Engineering environment with an understanding and appreciation for risk and hazards within this type of working environment. Candidates will ideally be NEBOSH qualified with internal audit qualifications in 9001 or 45001 ( Lead auditor qualifications are desirable)

Hours - Monday - Thursday 0830: - 1700/ Friday 0830 - 16.30

Role Description

  • Development and implementation of the department's strategic objectives. Ensure that all operations consistently exceed the standards set by ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 to enhance product quality.
  • Implementation and Maintenance of EN 1090 EXC Class 2
  • Formulate comprehensive audit plans and manage detailed internal, supplier, and subcontractor audits to identify gaps and evaluate the effectiveness of existing QESH management systems. Serve as the primary point of contact for clients conducting their supplier audits.
  • Take charge of accident and incident investigations, meticulously identifying the root causes and effectively reporting the findings to stakeholders.
  • Maintain strict alignment with QESH monitoring metrics, uphold final product quality, and ensure adherence to specific legislation including PED/PE(S)R, Machine Directive CE/UKCA , and HASAWA.
  • Lead the creation, administration, and maintenance of comprehensive QESH procedures and policies across the company to meet all applicable standards.
  • Oversee regular servicing and maintenance schedules for all company equipment, including calibrations and safety inspections, to ensure high operational standards and prevent equipment-related issues.
  • Continuously maintain and renew key industry accreditations such as Constructionline, CHAS, and Safe Contractor, ensuring the company meets or exceeds all standards required for operational excellence and regulatory compliance.
  • This role requires occasional travel within the UK to manage and oversee QESH requirements for various projects. You will be responsible for conducting on-site audits, attending meetings with clients, and ensuring that all project sites adhere to our rigorous QESH standards. A full UK driving license is essential for fulfilling these duties, as you will need to travel efficiently and independently to various locations as needed.

Skills & Attributes

  • Demonstrable experience within a similar QHSE role within an engineering/ manufacturing environment.
  • Strong working knowledge of ISO 9001, 45001 and 14001
  • Knowledge of EN1090 Standards.
  • Minimum NEBOSH National General Certificate
  • Internal Auditor Qualifications (9001 OR 45001) - Lead auditor qualifications advantageous
  • Ability to coach, train and engage employees
  • Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook literate.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Full UK Driving License
