Application Security Engineer - £70,000-£80,000 + 20% Bonus, Extensive Benefits Package & Remote Flex

Role Overview: Join our team as a Security Engineer, where you'll play a crucial role in protecting our organization from security threats. You’ll have the opportunity to lead and implement innovative security measures, working across teams to safeguard data and systems.

About You: With a background in systems engineering or administration, you’re passionate about security and ready to transition into a more focused security role. You'll collaborate with application security engineers to identify and close gaps in software practices, ensuring security solutions fit seamlessly with existing workflows.

Key Responsibilities:

• Identify security gaps and integrate appropriate tools within development processes.
• Work within agile frameworks (e.g., Scrum) to deliver security solutions.
• Train teams on core security products and create accessible documentation.
• Promote security best practices and develop automated monitoring systems.
• Help establish secure-by-default practices for engineering teams.

Core Skills:

• Proficiency in Python, JavaScript, or Java.
• Experience with cloud infrastructure (preferably Azure) and continuous integration tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitHub Actions).
• Strong Linux administration skills and knowledge of containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Operational and troubleshooting expertise.

Preferred:

• Understanding of SDLC and tools like JIRA, Git, and Nexus.
• Familiarity with security frameworks like OWASP Top 10 and CVSS.
