The Role and Responsibilities

The Group Legal Team is seeking an experienced In-House Paralegal to assist with the day to day corporate and commercial operations of the legal department. The position has arisen to cover a maternity leave and has been devised to support the Head of Legal and provide legal support to the UK and European businesses.

Working closely with the business s Group departments, the role offers the successful paralegal the responsibility of managing the business s IP, organising corporate documentation and tracking costs.

  • General Commercial
    • Assist with drafting and negotiating Marketing, NDAs and T&Cs agreements
    • Creating and updating template contracts, internal guidelines etc.
  • Intellectual Property Management
    • Ensure all trademarks and domains are registered and updated
    • Managing (with supervision) ongoing matters with external agent
    • IP incident management: Anti-piracy / Infringement and liaising with IT
  • Corporate
    • Manage corporate documents (including marketing, property leasing and corporate structure matters)
    • Monitor and manage expiries of powers of attorney
    • Assistance on acquisition projects, preparing due diligence documentation, record management
  • Organise trackers, summaries and reports (such as litigation reporting and investor reporting)
  • Compliance checks against new suppliers and partners
  • Governance policy and procedure documents
  • Coordinating legal invoicing and expense management

A general commercial contracts role that additionally includes managing IP, as well as corporate administrative tasks. This is a fantastic opportunity for a highly motivated LPC qualified in-house paralegal who would like to / enjoys working within the retail, leisure and property industries.

You

The role is ideally suited for a commercially astute LPC qualified paralegal with prior in-house experience. Strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential as well as a good ability to manage competing deadlines. You will have excellent organisational skills, IT skills, ability to prioritise competing tasks and work under pressure.

A confident communicator with the ability to quickly build strong relationships with senior stakeholders across the business, you will be excited to look after the IP interests of this fast-paced organisation with customers firmly placed at its core.
