Job description
This is a full-time on-site role as an operations assistant at DLA UK located in Brentford. We are looking out for an operations assistant with experience in Logistics to manage the day-to-day operations working from our office in Brentford.
The operations resource will have to collaborate closely with suppliers, transport hauliers, 3PL service providers and the customers.
Roles and responsibilities
- Managing customer booking, communications, scheduling daily transports and shipments by using the DLA Transport management system.
- Co-operate with the customs agent for the clearances of all the overseas Imports and exports.
- Manage all Collections and distribution by liaising with the hauliers and the 3PL partners.
- Regularly update the weekly plans and report to the managers.
- Update client with timely information with the milestones and POD recordings.
- Shipment documents management in the cloud storage.
- Update all supplier communication - Document all the new potential suppliers and the services in the transport management system of DLA.
- Monitor and track all supplier costs and verify with the pre agreed contracts and agreement.
Required skills and qualifications
- At least 2 years’ experience in logistics or supply chain management
- Any Graduate in economics, transport, supply chain or logistics related degree is desirable.
- Experience in a freight forwarding, and transport companies are advantageous.
- Experience with any transport management system or ERP system is advantageous.
- Fluent in English (Required). Italian and any other languages are advantageous (not mandatory).
- Agile mind with the ability to adapt and accustom to any business situation quickly
- Effective in problem solving and readily available for new learnings wherever required.
