Vertical Recruitment is proud to partner with a leading structural engineering firm that has been at the forefront of the events industry for over 25 years, known for its commitment to innovation and excellence. An exciting opportunity has arisen for a talented Structural Engineer to join their dynamic Manchester office.

In this pivotal role, you will work on a diverse range of projects, from theatre buildings and show productions to large-scale outdoor events. You'll also contribute to the preservation and enhancement of iconic Grade I and Grade II listed buildings.

With project values reaching up to £12 million and access to the latest design software, this role offers the chance to be part of high-profile, impactful projects.

Responsibilities:

  • Use latest design software to create and manage structural designs.
  • Liaise with key clients and discuss design/technical solutions with team members and stakeholders.
  • Ensure projects are appropriately resourced, delegating work to team members, programming deliverables, and monitoring progress.
  • Provide support and guidance to junior staff, fostering their development and progression.
  • Prepare calculations, drawings, details, specifications and reports for a wide range of structures and materials
  • Implement Company policies and ensure adherence across your team.
  • Monitor and oversee project budgets and staff resources for projects undertaken.
  • Develop existing customer relationships and promote their services.
  • Assist in achieving targeted revenues from current and new customers.

Qualifications:

  • Chartered Engineer status (CEng) would be advantageous
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering or equivalent (Masters degree preferred).
  • Minimum of 4 years of professional experience in structural engineering.
  • Proven track record of cost estimation and project management.
  • Prior experience working with historic buildings is highly desirable.
