Job Requirements/Description

ROLE PURPOSE

Deliver a high-quality medical information service to external customers and internal colleagues. Devise and implement strategy for continuous improvement of the Medical Information Department, in line with industry best-practice and developments.


MAIN RESPONSIBLITIES (include but not limited to)

  • Ensure department fully complies with GDP, medical device directive guidance and ABPI code of practice
  • Responsible for updating and maintaining compliance with medical information SOPs
  • Responsible for the delivery of response to medical information
  • Updating, creating and maintaining standard response letters, FAQs and medical information content for each product as required
  • Ensure adverse event reporting and pharmacovigilance responsibilities as required by the marketing authorization holder are completed
  • Responsible for line management of Medical Information and PV team
  • Ensuring individual and department stay up to date with relevant medical information and pharmacovigilance changes and best practice
  • Assessing changes to business, systems and regulation to proactively maintain effective and efficient provision of MI and PV service
  • Review and continuous improvement of the MI and PV processes to drive service delivery and productivity
  • Maintain Medical Information system ensuring IT systems function correctly and meet department needs
  • Liaise with global teams on implementation of IT systems
  • Is the Information Governance Manager supported by local DPO



KEY WORKING RELATIONSHIPS

  • Medical affairs colleagues (Regulatory Affairs, Scientific Advisors, MSL colleagues) to work as a team and deliver the medical plan
  • Commercial colleagues in marketing and sales to ensure activities are fair, balanced and compliant
  • Global colleagues to align on Medical Information and PV activity, research and global medical projects
  • Quality Assurance for coordination of PV and product complaints and implementation of new regulation and requirements
  • MPUK PV colleagues to ensure alignment of and collaboration on PV and MI activities


QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE & KNOWLEDGE

  • Life sciences degree (mandatory)
  • Experience (5 years+ is desirable) in medical information (mandatory)
  • In depth working knowledge and awareness of the ABPI Code (desirable)
  • Reviewer of medical and marketing materials (mandatory)
  • Analytical skills with the ability to understand and simplify complex medical messages
  • Ability to communicate with clarity and accuracy.
  • Knowledge and understanding of pharmacovigilance processes (desirable)
