Risk and Control officer

Job Title: Risk and Control Officer Contract Type: 12 month-Day Rate Contract Location: Belfast (hybrid) Salary: Up to £53 p/h About the Company: We are currently working with a global financial institution to recruit a Risk and Control Officer. This role will be providing in-depth disciplinary knowledge, contributing to the operational readiness and migration to new platforms. The successful candidate will focus on a specific geographic section of the rollout, including project planning, testing, development, and deployment of system feeds. A key aspect of the role is maintaining Balance Sheet integrity and reporting. About the Role: Conduct risk assessments and drive actions to address root causes of operational risk losses. Provide governance and oversight, including processing risk, operational readiness, and technology risk. Evaluate and ensure the control environment is robust and effective. Oversee project completion, special assignments, and ad hoc activities. Ensure compliance with all regulatory policies and procedures. Operate with minimal supervision, advising on standards and procedures. Responsibilities: Conduct risk assessments and drive actions to address root causes of operational risk losses. Required Skills: Strong business knowledge, particularly in core loan operations and operational risks. Proven ability to identify operational risks and gaps. Excellent multi-tasking and project management skills. Superior verbal and written communication skills. Preferred Skills: Preferred experience in business writing and system-to-system migration. Accounting/controllership experience is a plus. Pay range and compensation package: This role will be hybrid with 3 days working from the office in Belfast. Although the role is initially for a 12-month period there is a high possibility of extension.
