Job Title: Sales and Marketing Director

Purpose of the role:

Combine the strategic aspects of marketing with the operational aspects of sales to drive sustainable business growth, leading the Martec Sales and Customer Service teams, building and maintaining relationships with customers and stakeholders, and collaborating as part of the SMT to achieve bookings, revenue and profit targets.



Duties and responsibilities:


Key responsibilities



Responsible for budgeting and achieving annual Sales Target as the company commercial lead


Sales Management: forecast order intake, set sales targets, establish sales processes, and implement strategies to drive sales growth


Marketing Management: develop and execute marketing communications, ensuring consistent messaging, effective lead generation, and strong brand positioning


Strategic Planning: produce marketing and sales strategies aligned with the overall business objectives, analysing market trends, customer insights, and competitive landscape to identify growth opportunities and agree sub market/technology/product targets and plans


Line manage BDM’s and Business Manager


Lead, appraise and coach a team of sales and customer service professionals to ensure performance goals are met and exceeded


Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and stakeholders


Maximise value with existing customers through robust account management


Lead global marketing strategy and sales activity to identify and utilise potential new markets and customers for profitable growth


Develop and execute plans for global customer base diversification, competitor take share and sister company resale activity that broadens the company’s customer base


Own, update and report on Sales Budget’s and Forecasts


Maintain a sales pipeline that executes on the business’s goals around new design in business, NPI wins, new account wins, take share and sub market diversification


Lead the development and execution of marcomms activities, digital marketing strategies, social media marketing, email campaigns, and online advertising, understanding target customer profiles and best fit channels and messaging


Direct the creation of engaging and relevant content for various platforms, including blogs, whitepapers, videos, and social media posts


Collaborate with internal teams, such as Operations, Engineering and Finance, to create demand for the company’s products and support and enhance sales efforts


Contribute to the SMT ownership of core business performance metrics (e.g. ROS/OI) and business Strategy and Budget development and corporate approval


Conduct regular sales meetings and performance reviews with the sales and customer service teams


Supports Business Manager to deliver market leading service levels and business process efficiency, and achieve customer service targets


Oversee implementation upgrade of ERP & CRM systems to optimize lead generation, nurturing, and conversion processes


Identify new global market opportunities (i.e., products/services, technologies, markets)


Analyse sales data and market trends to inform sales strategies and decision-making


Monitor and report on the company’s market position and competitor activity


Manage the preparation of bids and tenders and oversee pricing approaches and processes
