Managing Director - Growing Leisure Brand in the UK
£60-80k (experience dependant) plus discretionary bonus and share options after agreed term
UK based with WFH potential + national travel required to sites
Our client is a fantastic leisure brand that is looking to grow their popular proposition further in the UK and beyond. They are now seeking an entrepreneurial and results-driven Managing Director to lead the company into its next phase of growth and success. The ideal candidate will have a strong track record of leadership in the leisure/ hospitality sectors, with a strategic mindset, operational expertise, and a passion for delivering outstanding customer experiences.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership:
- Develop and implement the company’s strategic vision and business plans in alignment with the Board of Directors
- Drive innovation and identify new business opportunities to ensure sustained growth and competitive advantage
- Monitor industry trends and market dynamics to proactively address challenges and leverage opportunities
Operational Management:
- Oversee day-to-day operations to ensure efficiency, quality, and profitability.
- Implement best practices in operations, customer service, and quality assurance.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, health and safety standards, and industry guidelines.
Financial Oversight:
- Develop and manage the annual budget and financial plan, ensuring alignment with strategic goals.
- Monitor financial performance, including revenue, costs, and profitability, and take corrective actions as necessary.
- Report financial results and business performance to the Board of Directors.
Team Leadership:
- Lead, motivate, and develop the teams on the ground, fostering a positive and high-performance culture
- Oversee recruitment, training, and professional development of staff
Customer and Stakeholder Engagement:
- Enhance customer satisfaction through the delivery of exceptional service and innovative offerings.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including customers, partners, suppliers, and community leaders.
- Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and public engagements.
About you:
- You must currently be in a similar senior management position as an MD, Director etc. or have had experience in a role at this level within the fitness, leisure or hospitality sectors
- You will have an entrepreneurial flair and be able to look for growth opportunities, partnerships, additional sites and concepts etc. to achieve success within this brand
- You will have evidence based examples of where you've built something from the ground or taken it to the next level including the how and why and outcomes
- We are looking for someone that can roll up their sleeves and run this like their own business, flexible to support what it takes to make this brand a success
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders and board
- Demonstrated strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities
