A well-known, mission-led challenger brand is seeking a Grocery Senior National Account Manager. You will be responsible for managing and growing business across key national accounts, including Tesco, Sainsbury's, Asda, Morrisons, and Waitrose. This role is pivotal in driving sales and ensuring the brand's mission resonates with our retail partners and consumers.


The ideal candidate will have experience in a mission-led branded business, with a passion for promoting a brand that stands for more than just products. This is a predominantly home-based role but we ideally need someone who is Southern based that can travel to their head office in the South West of England.


Key Responsibilities:


Account Management:

  • Develop and implement strategic plans for Tesco, Sainsbury's, Asda, Morrisons, and Waitrose to drive growth and achieve sales targets.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers within these retailers.
  • Monitor and analyse account performance, identifying opportunities and risks, and taking proactive action to optimise sales.
  • Negotiate terms, promotions, and joint business plans to ensure mutual growth and profitability.


Mission-Driven Sales:

  • Champion company mission in all interactions with retailers.
  • Work closely with marketing and CSR teams to align sales strategies with the brand’s mission and communicate this effectively to retail partners.


Market & Competitor Analysis:

  • Stay updated on market trends, competitor activity, and consumer insights to inform account strategies.
  • Provide feedback and recommendations to internal teams to enhance product offerings and positioning.


Collaboration & Leadership:

  • Work cross-functionally with internal teams, including marketing, supply chain, and finance, to ensure alignment and delivery of account objectives.
  • Act as a mentor and coach to junior team members, sharing knowledge and expertise to support their development.


Key Requirements:

  • Proven track record in a senior account management role, preferably within FMCG, with direct experience managing top-tier UK retailers (Tesco, Sainsbury's, Asda, Morrisons, Waitrose).
  • Experience working in a mission-led or purpose-driven business, with a passion for promoting ethical and sustainable practices.
  • Strong negotiation and influencing skills, with the ability to build lasting relationships at all levels.
  • Excellent commercial acumen, with the ability to drive sales growth and profitability.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to develop and execute comprehensive account plans.
  • Data-driven with strong analytical skills to interpret performance metrics and market trends.
  • Passionate about working for a mission-led business
  • Self-motivated and results-oriented, with the ability to work independently from a home base.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
