VP/Director, Structured Finance

Position Summary

The Structured Finance Team provides credit enhancement for a wide variety of capital driven structured products for financial institutions, corporate securitizations, and financings of financial assets. Areas of significant activity include bank and insurance company capital relief, fund finance, whole business securitization and other esoteric asset monetizations and securitizations. These transactions may contain elements of corporate or financial institution credit risk, collateral value risk, interest rate risk or insurance-related risks. Generally, the transactions will provide some level of capital support under either Solvency II or Basel III/IV.

It would also be beneficial, but not essential, if the candidate has experience in the Infrastructure sector to assist the origination efforts of the Infrastructure Team. This team sources and guarantees funding for essential infrastructure projects (e.g. PPPs, renewables) infrastructure corporates (e.g. utilities, airports) or public sector issuers (e.g. local authorities, housing associations). The business provides credit enhancement for listed bonds, private placements and bank loans across both the primary and secondary markets.

Primary Responsibilities

1. Develop (from an existing network of relationships in the Structured Credit universe as well as originate new transactions from the market), negotiate, and close structured finance transactions that will typically relate to UK and European financial institution sponsors.
2. Creation of spreadsheet-based financial models.
3. Coordinate and lead the transaction-specific due diligence.
4. Work with rating agencies as part of the shadow rating process.
5. Other special projects and duties as required.

Candidate Background and Qualifications

1. 10+ years' experience, depending on qualifications
2. Undergraduate degree from a top-tier university, preferably with a focus on finance, accounting, or other quantitative discipline
3. Significant knowledge of fixed income capital markets (knowledge of structured finance useful but not required)
4. Ability to interact with clients, senior management and other departmental members.
5. Excellent written and verbal skills.
6. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
7. Excellent computer literacy including Excel, Word and PowerPoint (cash flow modeling experience useful).
8. Ability to work independently and as part of a small, cohesive team.
