Job description
HMRCs Tax Professionals are responsible for ensuring that everyone who is liable to tax pays the right amount at the right time in the right place. Youll be working directly with customers ranging from those who want to be compliant but need help with the complexity of tax, to those who are wilfully noncompliant.
As part of HMRCs Tax Specialist Programme, youll join our team of highly skilled tax professionals and tackle these most challenging aspects of tax compliance work. Along the way, you'll gain valuable experience, learning how to resolve tax disputes, lead teams, interact with senior business figures and tackle complex tax issues. You'll play a vital role in our mission to ensure tax compliance and create a fair tax system.
How will we support you to become a highly skilled tax professional?
Dive into engaging learning sessions each week which are delivered virtually. Your progression with work and learning will be formally assessed at regular intervals during the course. Craft your working week strategically, to foster collaboration and hone your professional skills.
Youll need to navigate tax compliance casework, projects and various tasks to grow your ability and experience. Be part of a vibrant office environment, attending in person at least three days a week for a well-rounded experience.

We need you to have excellent potential to develop and achieve the skills required for this senior leadership role within 3 to 4 years.
