The Recruitment Bunker are recruiting exclusively for a Lead Engineers within Exteriors & Closures who can use CAD (Catia V5) at a high level. We are looking for individuals’ skill sets to cover design work on Front and Rear Bumpers, Glazing and Sealing and Exterior Lighting.

Responsibilities
- Company Policies: Manage and follow the quality, health, safety, and welfare policies of the company.
- Lead the full design and development of CAD, administration activity; BOM (Bill of Materials), DVP (Design Verification Plan), Family Tree and Release activity in-line with the companies NPI process and customer specific process.
- Lead the team through idea generation and problem resolution through day-to-day working and structured Design Reviews. Guide engineers implementing GD&T into designs
- Work closely with the Engineering Analysis team (FEA) to meet design targets and drive the most cost-effective solutions.
- Work closely with Manufacturing to agree feasible manufacturing solutions and to control the engineering change process. Ensure Design for Manufacture (DFM) philosophy is integrated into designs
- Communicate with the Head of Engineering to ensure you have the required level of support and help when required.
- Support Programme team to ensure project deliverables are achieved
- Communicate design solutions to internal stake holders and external customers
- Maintain communication with internal and external customers on a regular basis
- Lead the sign off process relative to your commodity in line with NPI guidelines
- Participate in formal and on the job training which will be provided regards the use of software and design techniques.
- Support and mentor the engineers within your team with your experience and knowledge.
Essential Skills
- Engineering degree or equivalent within a relevant subject
- Experience and Knowledge within Exteriors and Closures
- Strong ability to use CAD and understand CAE Literacy using Catia V5
- High level of Engineering design knowledge
- GD&T, can demonstrate good understanding
- Ability and awareness of design to manufacturing process
- Understanding importance of managing engineering change requests and claim management
- Ability to work efficiently within your role
- Understanding of budget management
- Strong communication skills
- Excels in organisational skills and time management
- A drive to learn and improve at every opportunity
- Willingness to support others
- Positive attitude towards mastering challenges and changes.
Desirable Skills
- Experience preparing and managing a budget
- Experience of leading a team of engineers
