Senior Electro-Mechanical Engineer


We’ve partnered with an industrial automation and robotics specialist in the heart of Dorset. As an approx. 50 person SME they’re still a small business but growing in the Aerospace, Automotive and construction industries. As they continue to grow, they need a talented Electro-Mechanical engineer to join their R&D function based in Dorchester.


  • £45,000 - £60,000 Per annum + Benefits
  • Dorchester based R&D centre, 5 days a week on-site, no relocation considered

  • Working for an industrial automation and robotics specialist


As Senior Electro-Mechanical Engineer you will participate in and review mechanical design solutions developed by the Mechanical Engineering department to ensure that delivered systems meet customers’ needs and expectations. Providing technical guidance and direction to technical team members throughout all phases of the product development process to ensure that all functional and non-functional performance requirements are met and that design solutions are robust and cost-effective.


Must Have skills:

  • 10+ years in Electro-mechanical engineering
  • Strong knowledge of CAD and other related software aided design tools
  • Experience with 2D and 3D optical and laser-based vision systems
  • Experience with Robots and robot control systems (FANUC & KUKA preferable)
  • Previous experience delivering statistical analysis of experimental, test, and quality data
  • Proven ability to conceive and develop innovative
  • A Electro-Mechanical, Mechatronic Engineering Degree


Nice to have skills:

  • Experience in the Automotive or aerospace sectors
  • Prior experience with electro-mechanical power, torque & efficiency calculations
  • Experience managing Pneumatic actuation and controls
  • A track record of new Product Introduction (NPI) methods and practices
  • Bills of Material Structure & Creation
