Structural Design Engineer

Our client is an established, family-owned design and build steelwork contractor specialising in distribution warehousing and low-rise structures. Based in the Sheffield area they design, manufacture and erect structural steel solutions for installation throughout the UK.

An opportunity has arisen for a Design Engineer to join their team. As a key player in the Company s on-going development plans you will be responsible for producing steelwork designs and calculations using the latest technology/design software underpinned with traditional design methodology. Experience of using Tekla 3D software is a requirement.

Your technical knowledge would preferably be in low rise structures with at least 5 years relevant experience. As part of the team, you will be required to produce economical structural steel solutions from architect s drawings, with compliance to industry and statutory standards, working closely with internal and external design team members. Experience in value/cost engineering in both design and fabrication is important in addition to the ability share experiences and develop new ideas with others.
